Welcome our new Attendance Health Specialist Carla Giron, Attendance Health Specialist Rojo and I will be on hand to provide any technical support you may need. If your child needs a school laptop or needs to exchange their current school laptop for one that functions better, please stop by the bus loop on Monday, January 4th from 2:30 pm to 5 pm. Also, please ensure your child has everything they need for virtual learning. As we prepare for the start of the quarter, please support your child in setting goals for a successful quarter. We look forward to returning in person later this year, as soon as it is safe. Instruction will continue virtually for now. Our 3rd quarter begins on Tuesday, January 5th with a minimum day. We are excited to welcome all our Huskies back for our 3rd quarter of the school year. Teachers will be able to participate in one of 12 online webinars offered on April 13th and April 14th at a variety of times. They will be able to monitor student progress and see where students may need additional support or follow-up. Teachers will also have an app on their MyPascoConnect Launch Pad, this will allow them to see how students perform in the leveling assessment to place them in the program. This resource will supplement the foundational skills lessons that the students will engage in through myLearning by allowing them to work through a variety of activities that provide opportunities for learning, practice, review, and remediation of foundational skills. Students will access SmartyAnts® in myPascoConnect. SmartyAnts® offers students an adaptive experience that will assess to see student’s current level of skill and then progress them through a foundational skill scope and sequence. SmartyAnts® is a literacy program that focuses on developing students foundational skills necessary to progress from an emergent reader to a transitional reader. Students in 3 rd-5 th grades will have access, if appropriate, for filling in foundational skill gaps. It is recommended that they spend 15-20 minutes in the program 3 or 4 days a week.
